New Executive Director

Habitat for Humanity of El Paso welcomes its new Executive Director, Thelma Ramos. Thelma is replacing Dave Driscoll who has served for manty years and will be retiring.

Thelma was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. After graduating from Thomas Jefferson High
School in South El Paso, she received her undergraduate degree in English and Creative Writing from the
University of Texas at El Paso and went on to obtain a master’s degree in Business Administration, also
from her alma mater. She believes that knowledge, in all its forms, is the key to success and strives to
consistently learn new things. Thelma has received numerous certifications outside of academia,
including Six Sigma and Project Management Professional (PMP).


Thelma has a background in nonprofit development and management. Prior to becoming the Executive
Director of Habitat for Humanity of El Paso, she led Operations within a not-for-profit charter school
district and Development within a handful of nationally recognized philanthropic organizations. She is
driven by the potential to give back to her community.
She is married and has two amazing daughters, one beautiful stepdaughter, three goofy dogs, and two
rabbits. She enjoys reading, writing, binge watching shows, and traveling, near and far, as often as time
allows.
